How often does a parent or spouse want to shield a loved one from harm or accountability which is the acceptance of responsibility of conduct. Choosing rather to take the punishment onto themselves. But the Bible is clear, Romans 14:12, “So then, each of us shall give account of himself to God.”
We see this first in the scripture verses of (Genesis 3:14-20), where after the disobedience of Adam and Eve, Judgment on Man and Woman was set by God because the world had become now fallen because of them. What is meant by fallen world? It is the world that exists today. A world that has fallen short of God’s original perfect standard. This present creation is broken, filled with sin, suffering, and moral disorder. A state of confusion and chaos that began with the original sin of Adam and Eve. Sin produces consequences of widespread evil, pain, rebelliousness, disobedience, chaos, and spiritual corruption.

Here, in the Garden of Eden, we see the current ‘blame game’ has begun.
(Adam)
Genesis 3:9-12, 9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
(Eve)
3:13, “And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
3:14 – God then turns to the serpent and pronounces judgment on it because satan moved in the serpent. Then God proceeds to judge Adam and Eve separately. He did not judge satan because his judgment was already set when he was kicked out of heaven prior. Everyone is accountable for their own actions. No one will be able to stand before the throne of God for someone else.
Notably, the prophet Joel (2:11) spoke of a ‘great and very terrible” day of coming judgment. Terrible for the wicked because they rejected the Lord Jesus and will be met with the full power of God’s wrath. But for the righteous, it will be a “great” day because of the long-awaited arrival of the Savior and the restoration of all things. There is coming a day of judgment and accountability. Judgment of all who are disobedient and chose to not accept the Father’s gift of forgiveness through His Son, Jesus Christ. In this judgment, those who have believed in faith in His Son, will not face judgment nor the wrath of God. 1 Thessalonians 5:9, “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Of accountability to explain the deeds done in this earth. We will stand before the throne of God, and we will answer Him.

God told Job, Job 38:3, “Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.” Job 38:7, same.
Job replied, Job:42:7, “Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, “I will question you, and you shall answer Me. I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. Therefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.”
I imagine, many of us will have the same responses when we stand before the Lord! But don’t be afraid! He will never cast us away from Him!
Thank God for hope! We can wake up to hope – Wake Up To Hope! God promises a future restoration of redemption and renewal through His Son, Jesus Christ! Jesus has already come and paid the price with His body and precious blood. The demand that God the Father accepted His Son’s sacrificial offering for you and me on His Cross! Hallelujah! Glory to God! Thank you Jesus!

Live your life so you will have an answer.
