Will He Find Faith?
Faithful means loyal, reliable, and true. It means staying firm—unchanged in support, duty, and belief—even when the path becomes difficult. In Luke 18:8, Jesus asks a sobering question: “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” That question is not only for the world at large; it is personal. It reaches into the heart and asks: When Jesus looks at my life, will He find faithfulness?
This question comes after Jesus teaches the parable of the unjust judge. In that story, a woman keeps coming before a judge who does not fear God or regard people. Because of her persistence, the judge finally responds. Yet Jesus is not comparing God to an unjust judge as though they are alike. He is showing us the contrast. If even an unjust judge can be moved by persistence, how much more will our faithful Father respond to His children?
God is not reluctant to help us. He is not hiding from us. He is faithful by nature. As 2 Timothy 2:13 reminds us, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” Faithfulness is not simply something God does; it is who He is.
The Faithfulness of the Father
From the beginning, God has been the One coming after us. He has always been the One seeking, saving, helping, restoring, and redeeming. Humanity did not go looking for God as we should have, yet God remained mindful of us. He has always desired fellowship with mankind.
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve walked with God in intimacy. They knew His presence without fear, shame, or distance. But when sin entered, everything changed. Sin broke fellowship. Shame entered the human heart. Fear caused Adam and Eve to hide from the very One who loved them.
Still, God came looking.
That is the heart of the Father. He did not abandon them without calling out. He came to the root of the matter. He asked Adam what had happened because something precious had been broken. God created mankind in His image, and when sin entered, the relationship He designed was wounded.
Sin is what causes us to hide from a holy God. God did not create us for separation. He created us for fellowship, communion, and closeness with Him.
God’s Glory and Our Need for Redemption
When Moses stood in the presence of God on Mount Sinai, the people of Israel witnessed the greatness of God’s glory. The mountain shook. There was thunder, lightning, and the sound of God’s voice. The people were afraid and asked Moses to stand between them and God.
God was not trying to hide from them. His glory was simply too pure for sinful humanity to approach casually. Before sin, Adam and Eve had walked with God freely. After sin, mankind could no longer stand before His holiness without fear.
This is why redemption was necessary.
Jesus changed everything. He came to pay the price for sin, and that price was death. Through His sacrifice, He made a way for us to be restored to the Father. Because of Jesus, we can come boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy and help in time of need.
The Father gave His Son. He gave His Spirit. He gave His Word. He gave His promises. He gave His covenant. He gave everything necessary for us to walk with Him again.
Are We Walking Faithfully?
The question is not whether God has been faithful. He has proven His faithfulness over and over again. The question is whether we are walking faithfully with Him.
Are we staying close to Him on this journey of life? Are we loyal to Him when the world pulls us in another direction? Are we reliable in prayer, obedience, worship, and surrender? Are we living as people who believe Jesus is truly coming back?
We can never repay God for all He has done. Salvation is not something we earn. Redemption is not something we purchase with good works. But love responds. Gratitude responds. Faith responds. A heart that has received much from God should desire to walk faithfully before Him.
Faithfulness does not mean we never stumble. It means we keep returning to Him. It means we refuse to quit. It means we keep believing, keep praying, keep obeying, and keep walking with God even when the way is hard.
Jesus Is Coming Back
Jesus is coming back.
He was born on a certain day. He was crucified on a certain day. He was resurrected on a certain day. And He will return on a certain day.
What He finds us doing when He comes will be our choice.
The New Testament makes it clear that before His return, there will be people on the earth who have consecrated themselves to Him. They will be walking in the power of God, committed to His purposes, and participating in the great harvest of souls. They will not be perfect people, but they will be surrendered people. They will be faithful people.
I intend to be part of that group.

A Prayer for Faithfulness
Father, thank You for being faithful even when I have not been. Thank You for seeking me, saving me, and making a way for me to come back into fellowship with You through Jesus Christ. Help me walk faithfully with You each day. Strengthen my heart, renew my devotion, and teach me to live ready for the return of Jesus. May He find faith in me. Amen.
